Julia J. Calabrese
Chief Executive Officer McArthurGlen UK Ltd
Julia Calabrese joined McArthurGlen in 1998 as Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of its retail development joint venture with BAA plc. Her first charge was to manage the transformation of this entrepreneurial enterprise into an integrated, multinational commercial real estate development and management company attractive to institutional investors. Her constant progress in this proved instrumental to McArthurGlen's buyout of BAA plc in 2002 and to her simultaneous appointment as Chief Executive Officer of McArthurGlen, and to the eventual establishment in 2004 of the Outlet Mall Fund with Henderson Global Investors.
Ms. Calabrese continues to run McArthurGlen's entire portfolio of retail commercial real estate, currently managing 19designer outlet villages across the UK and Europe. The portfolio is set to expand to 21 centres by the end of 2012.
Before joining McArthurGlen, Ms. Calabrese was a Senior Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield, the global real estate services company headquartered in New York City. She originally joined Cushman & Wakefield as a Managing Director in 1995 to run its commercial real estate management portfolio for the Eastern United States (then 55 million square feet), and was soon appointed Senior Managing Director and Operations Manager for all of the firm's commercial real estate service lines for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the United States.
Prior to moving to Cushman & Wakefield, Ms. Calabrese served for three years as President of Barnes, Morris, Pardoe & Foster Management Services, a Washington, DC commercial real estate firm, whose corporate predecessor she had originally co-founded with Mr. Kaempfer nine years earlier in 1983, serving as its President from its inception.
