James Beers
Co-Chairman
James Beers joined McArthurGlen as Co-Chairman and a member of the Board of Directors in 2003. For over 30 years he has been a financial advisor to Mr.Kaempfer. Mr. Beers is a Founding Partner of the Washington-based business consulting and accountancy firm Beers & Cutler, to which he acts currently as a Consultant. At McArthurGlen he is responsible for securing institutional and private financing for future developments, as well as investment sales and joint venture partnerships.
Mr. Beers has a background working with real estate companies of all sizes in the Washington metropolitan area, advising them on succession planning, developing their businesses, increasing profits and strategic planning. His detailed experience and expertise in property finance has uniquely positioned him to spearhead negotiations with Henderson Global Investors to put six of McArthurGlen's centres in Continental Europe into a new sole purpose pan-European retail fund.
Mr. Beers is a member of the Board of Directors of leading business processing outsource provider Transcom WorldWide SA. He has also held board positions at DC National Bank and McArthurGlen Realty, as well as being a Member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Federal District City Council, Washington, DC. In addition, he has been a Visiting Professor at Ecole Supérieure de Commerce et de Management in Tours, France, as well as at Tsinghua University in Beijing and London's Imperial College.
