Gary Bond
Chief Executive Officer - European Development
Gary Bond has been CEO of McArthurGlen European Development Ltd since December 2001, having joined McArthurGlen in March 1996 as Development Director.
Mr. Bond oversees McArthurGlen’s acquisition and development programme. His focus is on creating new developments, extending existing centres and researching new markets for future expansion. He is also on the Board of Directors, and is a long-term partner of McArthurGlen.
In his role at McArthurGlen, Mr. Bond and his team have been responsible for the development of around 500,000 m² of retail space, with a further 140,000 m² under way, making McArthurGlen one of Europe’s most prominent retail developers.
Currently there are 19 McArthurGlen designer outlet villages in key locations across the UK and Continental Europe, with two new schemes due to open in 2011 (Athens) and 2012 (Neumünster, near Hamburg).
Mr. Bond brought to McArthurGlen award-winning work in his role as Development Director for Tarmac Properties, which redeveloped the 57-hectare rail works site in Swindon. The scheme was recognised by the Prince of Wales in 1999 and was the largest privately financed regeneration project in the UK, creating almost 190,000 m² of mixed-use space.
He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
