Retail Manager, Roermond

The Role

The Retail Manager is responsible for the achievement of the centre’s sales and income budgets through the development and delivery of the Retail, Client Management and Commercialisation strategies.

Key Accountabilities

• Fully utilizes the tools - Retail Academy, CRM, and Magnet system – to drive, analyse, prioritise and improve profitability and exceed annual operational budgets.

• Forge close links with brand partners, McArthurGlen teams, and external contacts, to deliver the highest standards of customer service and training.

• Responsible for delivering The McArthurGlen Retail Academy, championing the highest retail standards and customer service, in order to help brand partners to meet MG sales targets.

• Oversee the management of the CRM system at centre level, ensuring the correct data for CRM is entered promptly and accurately and is maintained efficiently.

• Use retail expertise to support the Head Office CRM management team by identifying trading opportunities with major brand partners.  Communicate issues and proposed solutions and strategies where possible for cross-centre brand improvement.

• Ensure that brands are carrying sufficient stock and have an effective replenishment system to support sales targets.  Communicate ongoing issues to Head Office management teams.

• Provide the Centre Manager/Country Manager with all the relevant retail budgets and retail performance information to ensure the effective delivery of centre fiscal targets.

• Develop and maintain high standards of Visual Merchandising and provide guidance to stores where required, ensuring that consistency and effectiveness are maintained and that aesthetic standards are achieved.  Directly manage any Visual Merchandising resource that may be required from time to time.

• Liaise with relevant retail bodies, such as Trading Standards, Chamber of Trade, and the local community, to ensure the company is conducting itself in a legal and responsible manner and McArthurGlen is positively promoted at all times.

• Work with centre and Head office teams in order to identify and deliver brand partner training to improve performance and conduct induction meetings to ensure stores are aligned with the service standards of McArthurGlen.

• In close liaison with brand partners, develop and update an annual re-fit plan in order to maintain high standard of stores. Liaise with Leasing and CRM to support this programme.

• Complete comparative reviews/reports on competitors, detailing their activities, merchandise mix, promotional offers and price comparisons to aid McArthurGlen in remaining competitive in the market.

• Maintain close working relationships with McArthurGlen teams throughout Europe in order to identify and share best practice procedure and process multilaterally across all McArthurGlen centres.

• Work closely with the Marketing Manager to engage brand participation in the centre’s marketing and events programme.

Knowledge and Skills

• Educated to degree standard or equivalent
• Language skills: English (Written/Oral)
• Retail management experience at Store Manager/Senior Department Manager level
• Effective Report writing
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong influencing/coaching skills
• Strong visual merchandising skills
• Strong mathematical/analytical skills
• IT skills: Intermediate Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Catering/food experience desirable
• Full/clean drivers licence
